Matthew works on reporter's privilege, defamation, and privacy law issues for the Reporters Committee. Matthew received his J.D., with honors, from the George Washington University Law School in 2006. While in law school, he served as a legal intern at U.S. News and World Report and at the Policy Division of the FCC’s Media Bureau. He also served as a research assistant for Professor C. Thomas Dienes, updating the first amendment sections of his constitutional law case book and several commercial outlines and nutshells. Matthew received his B.A., cum laude, from Syracuse University's SI Newhouse School of Public Communications in 2003. Matthew has served as a reporter at the Courier-Post (Gannett), as a reporter and editor at The Daily Orange, and as an editor for Orangesource, an online humor magazine.
