Scott received his law degree from American University’s Washington College of Law in 2005. Prior to law school, Scott earned a bachelor’s degree from Bucknell University and a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Maryland at College Park. While enrolled in the master’s program, Scott interned at the Associated Press’ Washington, D.C., bureau and the Capital News Service’s Annapolis bureau. After journalism school, Scott worked as a newspaper reporter covering crime and local government for more than four years in Maryland and New Jersey. Following law school, Scott clerked at the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.
