In the latest twist in the Oklahoma City bombing trial, U.S. District Judge Richard Matsch scheduled for March 19 a closed session with approximately 500 prospective jurors, to be held at the Denver fair grounds.
On March 14, Long Island Newsday and the Los Angeles Times petitioned Judge Matsch to reconsider his decision to exclude the press and public from the pretrial proceeding, arguing that the jury selection process is "an absolutely crucial phase of the trial," and that there was no indication that press attendance would prejudice the defendants.
