The appellate court in Chronicle I denied the newspaper access to "Personal History and Arrest Records," which contained personal information on individuals suspected of crimes and a listing of all offenses for which the person had ever been arrested. Houston Chronicle Publ'g Co. v. City of Houston, 531 S.W.2d 177, 185 (Tex. Civ. App.-Houston [14th Dist.] 1975, writ ref'd n.r.e.). However, the Chronicle I court also concluded that "arrest sheets" containing arrestee's name, race, age, place of arrest, names of arresting officers and offense for which suspect is arrested are required to be released.
