Nov. 8, 2006 · Two journalists from The Cincinnati Enquirer were threatened with arrest Tuesday as they attempted to cover U.S. Rep. John Boehner as he voted. According to The Enquirer, Boehner had promised availability for interviews in the morning. But polling workers told reporter Janice Morse and photographer Tony Jones, who were attempting to interview and photograph Boehner, that they could not come into the polling place. By mid-afternoon, The Enquirer reported that the journalists were able to enter the church where the polling was taking place. At that point, Westchester Township police had arrived at the church and were speaking with poll workers. In a separate incident, poll workers cited law regarding polling procedures to challenge a videographer from WCPO-TV, according to The Enquirer. The videographer shot video footage of U.S. Rep. Jean Schmidt voting in Clermont County, Ohio, in the early morning. According to The Enquirer, the videographer left with the footage.
