Journalists arrested at the 2008 Republican National Convention in Minnesota have sued the cities of St. Paul and Minneapolis for violating their First Amendment right to gather news, The Minneapolis Star Tribune reported.

"Democracy Now!" host Amy Goodman and two producers among the nearly 50 journalists arrested during the RNC convention while covering the protests outside the St. Paul convention center. In addition to asking for monetary damages, Goodman’s attorneys are requested that the federal court enjoin future arrests of journalists in similar circumstances.
