The NCAA today released Florida State University disciplinary records to comply with a court order after the Florida Supreme Court rejected its last-ditch effort to block their release.

The lower court’s order required the NCAA to release the documents by 2 p.m. today. The organization had asked the state’s high court for an emergency stay but was denied, the Associated Press reported. Florida State University already released copies of the documents earlier in the month.

The Tallahassee Democrat noted that the Florida Supreme Court could still decide to review the case even though the records have been released.

"The way things are shaking out at this point, we have accomplished what we set out to accomplish, which is release of the records," Carol LoCicero, a Tampa attorney representing news organizations that sought the documents’ release under the state’s open-records laws, told the Democrat.
