Seven media companies filed papers with a federal appeals court in support of Hearst Corp.’s fight for the names of Major League Baseball players implicated in a steroids investigation.  The blacked out names of almost two dozen players appear on the federal affidavit used by prosecutors in the raid on the homes of a former New York Mets clubhouse employee and an admitted steroids dealer.  (12/5/07)
