TEXAS– In late July, Dallas Cowboys Michael Irvin and Erik Williams settled their defamation suit against a local television station for reporting rape allegations that police later decided were unfounded, according to the Associated Press.

Dallas resident Nina Shahravan, who stands by her claim that Irvin held a gun to her head while Williams and another man raped her, now faces trial for a misdemeanor perjury charge, AP reported.

Although neither Dallas station KXAS nor the players’ attorney disclosed settlement terms, a source told AP that the players will split at least $2 million.

Parties included KXAS reporter Marty Griffin and the station’s parent company, Lin Television Corp. (Irvin v. Griffin; Media Counsel: Charles Babcock, Dallas)
