A bill has been filed in the Virginia legislature to require any corporation created the state or “acting on behalf of” a government entity to follow the open government laws. The bill, sponsored by Del Johnny S. Joannou of Portsmouth was prompted by a Portsmouth Daily Press investigation of secrecy surrounding the setting of executive salaries at the Virginia Port Authority and Virginia International Terminals.
