Two Florida legislators have filed a bill that would extent a ban on release of autopsy photos to those introduced in court proceedings. It would also extend the ban to crime scene photographs that show a victim’s remains. The sponsors said the bill would protect the privacy rights of a victim’s family. Open government advocates said it would elevate privacy interests above the public’s right to open trials. (3/2/06)
