The House Intelligence Committee released a new report on the pending 2007 intelligence authorization act and said it was considering possible new action against the unauthorized disclosure of classified information. It said “more creative stops to deter” leaks are needed and said it was reviewing four cases in depth to better understand the related facts and circumstances that might inform new legislation. It also indicated it was considering legislation that would reach beyond the government official who leaked information. (4/7/06
