The Connecticut Supreme court ruled, 4-3, that computerized court records of criminal and motor vehicle cases are exempt from disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act. The decision severely narrows the definition of which judicial records are subject to the act. The court said it was “essential” that it control judicial records and other branches of government not be allowed to interfere. (4/25/06)
