Parsing the proceedings, a New York State Supreme Court judge ruled television cameras should be allowed at a sentencing hearing. Judge George B. Ceresia said state law prohibiting camera coverage applies only to “proceedings[] in which the testimony of witnesses by subpoena or other compulsory process is or may be taken.” (5/19/06)
