Sen. Patrick Leahy, co-sponsor of the OPEN Government Act, designed to reform the processing of Freedom of Information Act requests, told the the Society of Environmental Journalists that “The Bush-Cheney administration simply put a hold on it so that it won’t go through.” That has prompted the group to ask in its WatchDog newsletter who the senator or senators who implemented the anonymous hold might be and to suggest SEJ members collaborate to out the senator(s) responsible.
