“Oversight is a way for Congress to check on, and check, the executive.” That comes from a 2004 manual on congressional oversight prepared by the Congressional Research Service. With new Senate and House leaders pledging more thorough oversight in the 110th Congress, Secrecy News recalled the guidance and posted it along with a more recent report to Congress. (11/13/06)
