A federal judge in California said the court will investigate the sources of a Washington Times story last May to see if the government leaked grand jury information in its case against five defendants who allegedly provided sensitive information on Navy warships to China. The story, by reporter William Gertz, said the charges had been approved by “senior Justice Department officials.” (11/27/06)
