A bill to strengthen the Whistleblower Protection Act has been introduced by Senator Daniel Akaka, D-HI. The bill, S 274, tracks legislation introduced in the last session of Congress which won Senate approval. Sen. Akaka said the proposed law would ensure that whistleblowers are protected from retaliation. He added, “If we fail to protect whistleblowers, then our efforts to improve government management, protect the public, and secure the nation will also fail.” (1/12/07)
