As of Feb. 6, freelance journalist Josh Wolf had been in jail for 169 days for refusing testify before a grand jury and make available video tapes he shot at an anarchist rally in San Francisco in July 2005. That broke the record for jail-time by a journalist for contempt of court. The longest previous time spent in jail was also by a freelancer, author/journalist Vanessa Leggett who spend 168 days in a federal prison in Texas in 2001. (2/6/07)
