A seven-year, $30 million effort to declassify more than eight million pages of government records related to World War II crimes has been concluded. The records include the entirety of the operational files of the Office of Strategic Services, the predecessor agency of the CIA , and more than 163,000 pages of CIA materials of a type never before opened to the public. A final report of the interagency working group that oversaw the declassification will be made to Congress this month. (4/4/07)
