An attorney fighting Monterey County (CA) for records involving approval of a new, 95-unit subdivision won $250,000 in legal fees as reimbursement for his firm’s work on the case. The 2005 suit resulted in more than 3,000 pages of records being released. County officials contended the fee reimbursement was not warranted because they won on two of the three main issues in the case and the records released were of “very minimal value.” (4/6/07)
