Florida lawmakers have given county clerks more time to remove Social Security Numbers from public records being posted online. The House and Senate, without an objecting vote, gave clerks until 2011 to redact personally identifiable data from deeds, tax liens, court papers and other legal documents in the public record. Until then, individuals who wish the information removed must file a personal request to have the information redacted. This is the third deadline extension. (5/17/07)
