Washington state is getting a new open government ombudsman. Deputy Solicitor General Tim Ford will replace Greg Overstreet, who has been in the job since it was begun in 2005. Overstreet is going into private practice. “The only way that people can truly exercise democracy is through access to government,” Ford said in a statement released with the announcement. (5/28/07)
