A U.S. district judge rejected a Justice Department request to subpoena a Jackson Clarion-Ledger reporter in a Mississippi trial of a reputed Ku Klux Klansman for the 1964 attacks on two black youths. The reporter has interviewed the defendant, James Ford Seale, in January, 2000. (6/12/07)
