The Central Intelligence Agency has issued new rules on fees for obtaining documents under the Freedom of Information Act that could include bloggers in the definition of “news media.” The agency said in a notice in the Federal Register that it had decided against a more complicated set of rules because of a lack of public support and was instead adopting an OMB definition that covers “alternative media.” (7/24/07)
