Arizona’s public records ombudsman said his office has received 205 inquires since opening for business in January, including 131 requests from citizens for mediation. Government agencies turned to him 56 times for advice on whether to release information or open a meeting. There were only 18 media inquiries. He said the new law is working fine and that to date, every agency has followed the recommendation of his office. (10/22/07)
