Government Websites Blocking Easy Access to Information

A Senate committee was told that while four out of five Internet users reach government websites through search engines, the agency sites are not configured to allow that kind of access, with the result that a great deal of public information is not available to the public. The testimony came in support of an e-government bill being considered by the Homeland Security Committee. “We have to eliminate the blocks to transparency and accountability,” Sen. Joe Lieberman, I-CT, said.
