The South Florida Water Management District wants to take $10 million in tax dollars to jump-start “clean technologies” to cleanup the Everglades – and keep the information on how it’s spent confidential. The district board agreed to ask the Legislature to exempt records of a new capital venture fund from the state’s public records law because they believe businesses will be gun shy if the contracts are public.
