NASA Releases Air Safety Study but Data Is Heavily Redacted, Scrambled

Responding to a wave of criticism, NASA re-released a 16,000-page study of air safety in an electronic format that makes it easier to understand and analyze the data. The agency had been criticized for initially withholding the report, then releasing it under pressure in a form that was incomplete and hard to use. NASA Administrator said that in addition to the re-release that the agency is looking for ways to release more of the findings of the $ll.3 million study. (1/15/08)
