The Tennessee Senate’s State and Local Government Committee unanimously passed a new open records measure (SB 3280) on Tuesday.

The bill will be discussed sometime in the next couple weeks in the Senate Finance Ways and Means Committee, but no specific date has been set. If it’s approved there, it will go to the full Senate for a vote. The House companion bill, HB 3637, is scheduled to be heard April 9 in the House State and Local Government Subcommittee.
