The City of Reno said it would release personal contact information on members of volunteer commissions and boards. City attorneys initially redacted the information from records requested by the Reno Gazette-Journal, saying state law allowed it to keep confidential government-managed databases of e-mail addresses and phone numbers. They subsequently acknowledged the information is contained in application forms that are public record and not part of a protected database. (1/30/06)
