A civic activist in New Jersey is pushing local communities to be more transparent, including making minutes of any closed meetings available to the public. Several communities have already adopted Michelle Bobrow’s model resolution on openness. “We have reason to distrust what goes on in those closed sessions,” Bobrow said. “Opening the closed sessions after a reasonable period of time will help allay the mistrust.” (3/22/07)
