Administration Held Up 9/11 Report Critical of FAA

A previously classified portion of the 911 Commission report, kept from the public until after the presidential election by the Bush Administration, shows that Federal Aviation Administration officials had dozens of intelligence reports that warned of Al Queda and several that specifically mentioned airline hijackings and suicide operations. None of that prompted increased security, according to a section of the August report which was declassified and quietly sent to the National Archive in early February. (2/14/05)
