The Bush Administration has perfected the technique of staying on message and limiting access for reporters and the public in their effort to control information coming out of the White House and the executive branch of government, AJR Managing Editor Lori Robertson writes. The press complains, and many reporters continue to find ways to dig out information that’s buried, she writes, but it will take substantial public support if the media wants to change the culture.
