These days, any song about open government is likely to be, what else, The Blues. In time for Sunshine Week, political troubadour Peter Leidy has recorded just such a sad song, “Open Records Blues.” His tale of travail is about trying to get information under Wisconsin’s law. But it could have happened in almost any state. And don’t even think about a transparency tune involving the federal government. Nobody writes them that sad. (3/9/06)
