Appeals Court Quickly Buries Claim of FBI Interrogation Threat

The 2nd Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals, in reinstating a civil lawsuit brought by Abdallah Higazy against the FBI, cited in its opinion Higazy’s claim that the agency had threatened his family if he did not confess to owning a radio device thought to have been used to communicate with the 9/11 plane hijackers. Within minutes of releasing the opinion, however, the court withdrew the document and substituted a second opinion with no details of Higazy’s allegations. (10-25-07)
