Appeals Court Releases Autopsy Photos in Florida Abuse Case

Florida’s attorney general has asked the state Supreme Court to review a Second District Court of Appeals Decision that gave media outlets the right to the crime scene and autopsy images of an 11-year-old murder victim. The appellate court called for disclosure saying that “secret evidence is the hallmark of an oppressive regime. It is not a policy generally acceptable in a free society”. Attorney General Charlie Crist cited privacy guarantees in the state constitution, and a law dealing with autopsy photos passed after the death of race car driver Dale Earnhardt, in asking the high court to review the decision.
