An Indiana Circuit Court judge ruled that a report from two trustees to the Indiana University President prior to the 2000 firing of basketball coach Bob Knight was protected by attorney-client confidentiality and did not have to be disclosed. Judge Jane Spencer Craney said it did not matter that the then-trustees were not paid for their investigation of Knight’s conduct. The Indianapolis Star had sued for access to the document.
