The Seattle Times gave the open government record of Washington State’s Attorney General Christine Gregoire a comprehensive review in a pre-election report. “A pretty mixed bag” the head of the state’s Coalition for Open Government said. Reporter Mike Carter’s research laid out the contradictions: A strong public advocate for disclosure but one whose office has often backed state agencies seeking to withhold information – resistance that cost the state at least a half million dollars.
