Allyson Veile

Allyson Veile is a staff attorney at the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press on its national litigation team.

Allyson first joined Reporters Committee in 2024 as a media litigation fellow. Prior to joining Reporters Committee, Allyson was a legal fellow at the University of Georgia School of Law’s First Amendment Clinic, where she helped litigate a variety of civil rights and media law matters. While there, she authored Problems, Old and New: A History of Public Records Law in Georgia, Georgia Law Review Online (2025). Before that, she was an associate in Ballard Spahr LLP’s Washington, D.C. office.

Allyson earned her J.D. from Duke University School of Law in 2021, where she worked as a student attorney in its First Amendment Clinic. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin, where she studied government and economics.
