Annie Seminara

Annie Seminara is the E.W. Scripps Legal Fellow at the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press. Prior to joining the Reporters Committee, Annie was an Associate at Debevoise & Plimpton, LLP, where she focused on intellectual property litigation. Her previous experience includes representing an artist foundation in its successful opposition to motions to dismiss a high-profile lawsuit regarding inauthentic furniture, representing a print-on-demand company in its defeat of two preliminary injunctions in a complex trademark litigation matter, and serving on a winning trial team in a bankruptcy matter. Annie was also a legal intern at the WNET Group, where she performed pre-publication review for a weekly podcast.

Annie received a J.D. from Columbia Law School in 2023, where she was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and served as the Executive Articles Editor of the Columbia Journal of Law & the Arts. She is the author of "Satan Shoes or Satan Speech? Balancing Trademark and First Amendment Rights in the Altered Authentic Goods Context," 46 COLUM. J.L. & Arts 221 (2022). Annie received her B.A. and M.A. degrees in performance studies from New York University.
