Basma Humadi

Communications Intern

Basma Humadi is a communications intern at the Reporter's Committee, where she works on establishing outreach along with building and supporting projects as they relate to RCFP's mission and work.

Prior to joining the Reporter's Committee, Basma served as Managing Editor of George Mason University's student-run newspaper, Fourth Estate. In her role, she helped develop a longform section dedicated to working on more extensive pieces related to campus politics, grow to produce a weekly 24 to 28-page paper and gain a stronger presence on campus. Under her term, the paper broke the news that Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh was hired as a professor at Mason, which was picked up by mainstream media outlets.

Basma formerly interned with SiriusXM on their P.O.T.U.S channel, Sky News Arabia and World Learning on their Iraqi Young Leaders Exchange Program. She graduated from George Mason University with a bachelor's degree in Conflict Analysis and Resolution and a minor in Journalism.
