Emily Brown is a 2020-2021 legal fellow for the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press. She is a 2020 graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law, where she was a fellow in the Program in Law and Public Service. At UVa, Emily served as senior technical editor of the Virginia Journal of Social Policy & the Law. During law school, Emily interned at the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, the ACLU of Massachusetts, and for the Honorable Lois Bloom, USMJ of the Eastern District of New York. Prior to law school, Emily served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Lesotho from 2014 to 2017. Emily received her bachelor’s degree in political science from Haverford College in 2013.
