Staff Attorney
Marietta Catsambas

Marietta Catsambas is a staff attorney at the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press. She oversees the Reporters Committee’s amicus curiae program, which ensures that the news media’s perspective on critical press issues, such as newsgathering, the reporter’s privilege, defamation, and access to courts and government records, is represented in state and federal courts throughout the country.

Prior to joining the Reporters Committee, Marietta was an associate in the media and First Amendment practice at Davis Wright Tremaine LLP, where she litigated on behalf of news media, technology companies, and nonprofit organizations to protect their First Amendment and intellectual property rights. Before that, she clerked on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, and served as a volunteer attorney at the ACLU of the District of Columbia. Marietta received her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and her B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania.
