Michael Korsh

Michael Korsh is a legal intern at the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press. He is a rising 2L at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law in Chicago.

Prior to joining the Reporters Committee, Michael worked for two years as an investigative data reporter for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, where he used data analysis and computer-assisted reporting to cover federal agencies, corporate misconduct, and complex real estate transactions. He is a recipient of the George Polk Award for Medical Reporting, as well as finalist nominations for the Goldsmith Prize in Investigative Reporting and the Livingston Award for Young Journalists.

A Minneapolis native, he received a bachelor's degree in journalism from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism, where he was the recipient of the Medill Valedictorian Award in 2021. He then received his master's degree in journalism from Medill in 2022, where he specialized at the Medill Investigative Lab in Washington, D.C.
