Tanvi Valsangikar
Tanvi Valsangikar is the Abrams Legal Fellow at the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press. Prior to joining the Reporters Committee, Tanvi served as Legal Counsel at Springer Nature, where she conducted pre-publication review, advised on copyright and trademark matters, and handled contracts and licensing across the company’s publications, including Scientific American and Nature. Tanvi was also the first Legal Fellow at Penguin Random House, where she conducted pre-publication review of nonfiction manuscripts, provided guidance on First Amendment, copyright, and trademark issues, and supported litigation matters. She currently serves as Secretary for the New York State Bar Association’s Committee on Media Law.
Tanvi received a J.D. from Rutgers Law School in 2022, where she was Senior Notes Editor of the Rutgers Law Record. She is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey.
