A bill to strengthen the Massachusetts open meetings laws by providing fines for any official violating the law and allowing citizens who bring legal action to recover attorney’s fees was filed by Rep. Stephen Kulik. The bill sets a $1,000 fine against the government agency and $500 against any official who violates the law. (1/16/07)
