A New York state judge last week paved the way for a full public airing of former supermodel Christie Brinkley’s marital woes, declaring that her divorce trial will be held in open court.

An attorney for Brinkley’s children had asked that the proceedings be secret to shield them from the lurid details of their parents’ break-up. But Brinkley’s lawyer pushed for an open trial in her divorce from architect Peter Cook; his attorneys swiped back that she only wanted to parade Cook’s marital infidelity.

The trial is scheduled to begin July 2.
