On his first morning as New York’s governor, Eliot Spitzer signed an executive order directing all state agencies and authorities subject to the open meetings law to broadcast their sessions live on the Internet. “It may be that nobody clicks through and watches,” he said, “but at least the possibility of watching what these boards do and how they meet and how they discuss the issues is important..” (1/2/07)
