The California State Assembly adopted a resolution supporting a federal reporter-source privilege law. The vote was 38-0. “We just sent Washington a unified message to protect a free press,” said Assembly member Noreen Evans, D-SantaRosa. California has had a shield law since 1935. (8/31/07)
